Ceita (pronounced 'KEE-ta') Bobb-Semple is a motivational multidisciplinary creative with a lifelong passion for helping people reach their highest potential. Born in uptown New Orleans, Louisiana with West Indian roots in Guyana (South America), the accomplished multi-hyphenate has served as an illustrator-graphic designer-website developer-art instructor-eMCee-host-singer-songwriter-recording artist-live performer-public speaker-narrator-voiceover actor for over 30 years. Well-known for his distinctive voice and a larger-than-life personality, his greatest impact has been in service to younger generations. Anchored by a holistic spiritual connection to The Most High, an undying hope for future generations and a genuine hunger for truth transcendent of religious affiliation, Ceita has served throughout his journey in leadership as a community outreach coordinator, youth pastor, counselor, philanthropist and mentor.
As an only child in the latch-key era of the 80’s, much of Ceita’s childhood was spent alone, where his interest became enveloped in the visual, musical and literary arts. A radio, cassette tapes and classic hip-hop music became the backdrop of his inspiration. He began drawing at the age of 3, laying the foundation for his eventual collegiate and career path as a graphic designer; along the way he discovered an immense affinity for words, which was cultivated by years of spelling bees, word games and local Scrabble competitions. Becoming a wordsmith was a natural progression that eventually culminated in a full-circle moment: appearing as a contestant on world renown television game show Wheel of Fortune, where he won the game and made history as the first rapper to perform on a syndicated game show.
As a hip-hop artist and performer, Ceita made noteworthy traction over the span of 2 decades recording and performing original music under the artist moniker "BIGREC". Described as an elite lyricist with a commanding stage presence, BIGREC became a staple in Tulsa, Oklahoma and eventually made a definitive mark in the Atlanta, Georgia music scene. His artistry, craftsmanship and commitment to the culture of hip-hop birthed a grassroots movement, REALHIPHOPISBACK (RHHIB) with a mission to bridge the generational gap between youth and elders, He released several mixtapes and albums under his music imprint RHHIB Enterprises, the most notable being a joint venture with Dymond Mine Records, founded by legendary Grammy award-winning artist/producer Diamond D ,
Coming from a lineage of orators, public speakers stage performers, television & radio personalities: and entertainers, it was no surprise that Ceita would venture into most of these areas. His uncle, the late, great Ron Bobb-Semple, was a globally-renown actor and playwright, known for his riveting portrayal of legendary Black activist Marcus Mosiah Garvey. in The Spirit of Marcus Garvey. As a voice over actor, he has worked professionally with a diverse pool of clients such as Doritos, Conoco Phillips, Primerica, Flying Colors Media, SteeleHouse Productions, M3 Creative and MF'N Entertainment, In addition to film narration, writing songs and jingles, Ceita has worked with Grammy-award winning music producers Roahn Hylton, 'Focus...' and the aforementioned Diamond D, among others. To say the least, utilizing his vocal gift to inspire, educate and entertain 'Semply' comes naturally.
After years of both corporate and freelance design experience, Ceita, along with his incredibly beautiful, gifted and well-accomplished wife Jalila--who has an extensive resume in marketing, counseling and consulting--chose to forge a path of generational entrepreneurship to set their family up for life and establish The Bobb-Semple Legacy...hence, WEareUS umbrella was born. In 2018, they launched EYE35DESIGN, a creative solutions agency specializing in branding, graphic design, marketing and website development, where he serves as Chief Creative Officer.
Life as a husband, father and "G-Pa" has been the greatest blessing imaginable as their legacy together has been cemented through their namesake, Legacy Mosiah Bobb-Semple. Standing on the firm foundations of faith, loyalty and genuine family, the WEareUS creed will last forever: "Spirit is paramount...
